Site 5 a popular site because it on the way to the other sites and it's closer to shore, only out about 5.4 nm. The site is apporximately 5.4 nm from the Bell Buoy at a heading of 070°, with an average depth of about 65 ft. Visibility may be only 10 feet near low tide because of the proximity to Ponce Inlet; visibility often imporves in the summer before and after cold water upwelling or later in the fall after the hurricanes have passed. Grouper, sea bass, flounder, mangrove snapper, and a variety of colorful soft corals (and many boats) are usually on the site.

Site 6 has a variety of structures, making it an interesting dive and fishing site. Site 6 is 9.5 nm from the Bell Buoy at a bearing of 100°, putting it about 8.4 nm offshore. Average depth at the site is 60 ft.

Additional culverts were added to the northeast corner of the site in 1994. Some the piles are 10 feet high. This site often has schools of mangrove snapper and sheepshead. Whale sharks and large ocean sun fish have also been seen near Site 6. The center culverts are a good location for photographing colorful invertebrates.

Site 7 is a typical culvert reef. It's similar to sites 5 and 6 in it's depth, distance from shore and the types of marine life you would find. The site is about 12 nm from the inlet at a bearing of approximately 107°. It is approximately 9 nm offshore and depths are 55-60 ft.

Back in 1991 3 very full barge loads of culverts and concrete pipe were placed on what was then the site center. Now it's actually on the west side of the site. The depth around this site is approximately 58 feet.

On October 9th 1994 a 120' x 30' x 7' steel water barge was sunk east of the 1991 culverts. The barge settled upright in a north south orientation. It has remained intact for main years. The last documented survey in 2010 had the barge pointed in more of a southeast direction. It is still believed to be in good condition.

On August 24, 2014, a barge deposited 360 ton of clean culverts in the ESE part of Site. The height of the deposit is about 11 ft. The depth is approximately 54 ft.

 

Site 8 is 13.5 nm from the Bell Buoy at a bearing of 134°, putting it only a few miles offshore. While a good site to fish for mangrove snapper and other bottom fish, it is not a popular SCUBA location because it is far from the inlet, often has poor visibility, and has problems with shifting sands. This site is no longer an active permitted site.

An underwater video made in 2013 showed that many culverts are not buried.

 

Site 9 is approximately 33 nm offshore, making it the furthest offshore site in the system. It is approximately 32.8 nm from the Bell Buoy at a bearing of 059°. It is a popular deep water (135 ft.) fishing site.

In 1996, about two dozen US Navy Grumman A-6 Intruder jet aircraft were placed in the area. Look a short distance to the southeast and to the east of the ship for the first few planes.
